How Do I Edit Digital Video Banner

Before the days of digital video, editing was a timely and concise craft. Although editing still takes a keen eye and strong storytelling ability, the actual task of editing has gotten much easier. Instead of having to splice film strips and glue them to make a cut (also known as “destructive editing”) we now have the ability to cut in a digital and “non-destructive” way. This is also known as “non-linear editing”. It would make sense, then, that the programs we use to edit today are known as “non-linear editing systems” (NLE).

The process of editing is more than just laying down a story on a timeline. It’s an entire workflow that begins with organizing the data and finishes with exporting a video to the internet or onto a disc. This process can be lengthy, but with the right tools and skill set it can become second nature. Keep in mind that editing relies upon storytelling. If the story is told well, the tools used to create it fade in the background.
